Each year, the Canadian Organic Growers organizes Feast of Fields and this year Grazing Days is participating! Feast of Fields pairs up local organic farmers with local chefs and these teams create extraordinary gourmet delights to showcase some of the best things that local organic food has to offer. This year, there are over 20 farmer–chef teams participating, There are only 350 tickets to be sold to this event and tickets are selling fast. Feast of Fields is the main fundraiser for the Ottawa Chapter of Canadian Organic Growers (COG). COG’s membership is made up of farmers, gardeners, processors, retailers, educators, policy-makers, and eaters with a common belief that organic food production is the best choice for the health of consumers and producers, for the protection and enhancement of the environment, and for the sustainability of the food production system. In Ottawa, COG runs a number of programs including Growing Up Organic with youth in schools, Senior Organic Gardeners with seniors, and Farmer Outreach for farmers. Grazing Days has partnered up with Tarek Hassan, the chef behind an exciting local pop-up restaurant that is just getting off the ground called the Gongfu Project (http://gongfuproject.com/) and we will be serving some delicious grass-fed beef.
